Description: An antique 14k rose gold garnet and glass doublet imitation sapphires & rose cut diamond ring. Having 2) 4.0mm garnet and glass doublet imitation sapphires with 2) .02 carat and (6) .01 carat rose cut diamonds accenting the bi-pass designed setting.
Garnet and glass doublets were very common in Victorian times�used to imitate ruby, emerald and sapphire. This involved a red garnet top, glued to a colored glass bottom. They are highly collectible in their own right.�
Stamped with an anchor hallmark and electronically tested. Circa 1890's.
Measurements: Measures 5/8" by 1/8" high. Ring is a size 6 1/2.
Condition:�Good. There is a chip on one of the doublets that is only noticeable under magnification.
